'Rona (to the tune of Bananarama's "Venus")

Michael Salsbury
Here's a little parody I wrote after hearing the song Venus by Bananarama.  While COVID-19 is a serious illness and I feel for every family that's lost a loved one to this pandemic, hopefully this will bring a smile to your face for a moment.

If you decide to record this or turn it into a YouTube video, I'm cool with that, but I'd appreciate credit for the lyrics and maybe a link back here!  Thanks!

(BTW:  Although it's in the lyrics for effect, as far as I know I don't have it.)

'Rona
Virus in the air you breathe
Spreading like a brushfire flame
Seems like we can't do enough
Corona is its name
She's got it
Yeah, baby, she's got it
It's Corona, it's the virus
You don't desire
Well, it's Corona, it's the virus
You don't desire
It's nasty 'cause some don't feel sick
Then spread it out to all their friends
Dumb as stump, though some are
Not wearing their masks
Yow!
He caught it
Yeah, baby, he's got it
It's Corona, it's the virus
You don't desire
Well, call it Rona, it's a virus
You don't desire
She caught it
Let's hope they can cure it
It's Corona, it's the virus
You don't desire
Well, call it Rona, it's a virus
You don't desire
Virus in the air you breathe
Making you burn like a flame
And cough and have shortness of breath
And COVID is its name
She caught it
Oh baby, she's got it
It's Corona, it's the virus
You don't desire
Well, call it Rona, it's a virus
You don't desire
Yeah baby she's got it
Yeah baby he's got it
Yeah baby they've got it
Oh brother, I've got it
Let's hope they can cure it
Let's hope they can cure it
Let's hope they can cure it
