C'mon, help me get a free iPod already... This article will tell you how to help me get my free iPod and how to get one for yourself at the same time.  Or, if you're short on time, CLICK HERE and sign up for one! A while ago, in the "legitimate media" I heard about a site that was giving away Apple iPod MP3 players for free. The catch is that you, and 5 people you refer, have to complete an "offer" from one of their advertisers. Once all 6 of you have completed the offer, you get your iPod. Those 5 you refer can also get an iPod, provided each of them can also get 5 people to complete an offer, etc. On the surface, it sounds like a pyramid scheme, which is illegal. But since there's no "upline" or "downline" or transfer of funds from you to the site owner or other people at the site, it's not a pyramid scheme and not illegal. There are lots of sites out there, including some high-profile news agencies like CNN, who've tried to de-bunk this but can't. There are also plenty of sites out there who have documented people getting their free iPod from these guys.
So I began a quest to see if I could manage to get one. So far, I've completed my own "offer" (joined BMG music service) and one of my referrals has signed up as well. I still need four more referrals. Some of the offers involved in this don't require a cash outlay (e.g., credit card applications). Some require a very minimal outlay (e.g., $1 for a 1-month trial membership in some buying service, which you can cancel after two weeks and still get credit from the "freeipods" people). Others are more of a "commitment" (like the BMG music service, which you agree to be in for some length of time and buy some number of CDs). I opted for the BMG offer because it gave me something (music, which would be useful with the iPod). I haven't regretted that because they've had some good deals on CDs at different times (e.g., at one point I think I bought something like a dozen CDs I wanted for an average price around $6-7 each, including shipping, which would have cost $10-18 each through CDNow or other sources).

If you are interested in trying your hand at this "free iPod" business, please use my referral link when you sign up to do your offer. Doing so will not slow down the acquisition of your own iPod at all, and will help me get mine a touch quicker. All you need to do is CLICK HERE and complete the sign-up process.

Good luck to you in getting your own free iPod!

BTW, if you're wondering why I'm trying to get a free iPod when I already own another player, it's because I would really like to be able to do a good comparative review and highlight the relative advantages and disadvantages of the Creative and Apple offerings side by side.
