This wasn't in the user manual, but I finally figured out how to do it...
I'm quite happy with the Creative Labs Nomad Zen Xtra MP3 Player I purchased a while ago. The sound quality from the Nomad is great, the battery life is fine, and there's no complaining about the capacity (60GB). One thing that was a little frustrating was that there appeared to be no "fast forward" or "rewind" capability. The user manual says that using fast forward can decrease battery life, but doesn't say HOW to fast forward.
This morning I figured it out. You have to press and hold in the ">>|" (next track) button. The icon will change in the display from "play" (">") to fast forward (">>") and you'll spin down through the track.
